The Forum Foundation has been established by the Forum of Executive Women as a non-profit §501(c)(3) organization.
Mission
The mission of The Forum Foundation is to support initiatives that promote the advancement of all women leaders in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Focus
- Educational programs that enhance the leadership skills of current and potential women leaders in the business and not-for-profit sectors.
- Research and information programs that measure and facilitate the advancement of women to positions of leadership.
- Awards to individuals who exemplify the potential and achievements of women leaders, and to organizations that recognize and reward those achievements.
- Programs that enhance public awareness and support of women leaders.
Initiatives
- Executive Suites works to promote an increase in the number of women serving on for-profit and significant not-for-profit boards of directors and the number of women holding executive suite positions by:
- Helping organizations do a more effective job identifying female candidates for executive suite and board positions.
- Commissioning research on women in executive and board positions.
- Sponsoring training for potential board candidates.
- Mentoring Program supports the development of high-potential women leaders and develops data on the impact of this mentoring model. It matches members of The Forum of Executive Women with young professional women in the early stages of their careers, provides training and evaluates outcomes.
- The Forum Award is presented annually to a young woman selected on the basis of her professional accomplishments and potential for community leadership; the award includes a stipend for leadership training.
Future initiatives may include awards for championing leadership opportunities for women, research on media coverage of women leaders and seminars on the role of women in shaping public policy.
History
The Forum Foundation was established in 2004 as a non-profit §501(c)(3) organization by The Forum of Executive Women, which provided a grant to help launch the Foundation. In 2007, members of The Forum of Executive Women contributed more than $100,000, exceeding the Foundation’s goal for start-up funding.

The Foundation’s fundraising effort is ongoing, and contributions are welcome. Donations to The Forum Foundation are tax-deductible.
